This is based on Sunday's lection of Mark
Voice 1
A man suffering from a dreaded skin disease came to Jesus, knelt down, and begged him for help. “If you want to,” he said, “you can make me clean.”
Voice 2
And I do want to.
I want to touch your loneliness
That is steeped in prejudice
I want to touch you
You skin colour
Your language
Your religion
Your accent
Your fashion
All that seems to make a difference
And say,
“I do not need to make you clean
because you are not unclean.”

Voice 2
And I do want to.
I want to touch your poverty
And let you see mine
I want to touch your powerlessness
And your scepticism in change
Your longing
Your anger
Your mistrust
To touch your story
And make it mine
And say,
“I do not need to make you clean
because you are not unclean.”

I do want to.
I want to touch your reluctance
To let go and move out following me
And how you see me
I want to touch your uncertainty about my realm
Your religion
Your questions
To touch what you have placed out of reach
faith
And let it grow
And say,
“I do not need to make you clean
because you are not unclean.”

To kiss the leper in you
and set you free

I want to touch you
And say,
“I do not need to make you clean
because you are not unclean.”
