I've seen a couple of houses with decorations up already. I think this is the earliest. makes me want to put our up even later. Bah humbug.
However, it is time to think about a nativity play. Indeed it's way past the time for thinking about a nativity play. We normally do an original one every year but I'm dry of ideas. It's been different every time for the last 12 years. There is only so much you can do with three kings, a donkey and a stable, especially when the stable is the only bit mentioned in the bible.
So any ideas on how to retell the story for all ages? A play, a gallery of art, a photographic exhibition, sounds, story telling, a litany of what children think christmas is about, a gathering up of symbol that make something when you put them all together, a text messaging nativity, adults telling it for children, or just tell it like it is in the bible, but we'd have to miss so much out as the Victorians added all the nice bits.
So I'm truly open to suggestions. And you've got 24 hours. Nothing like a deadline to get you thinking.
