Hymns were given a big thumbs down today by The Gap and a big thumbs up from many others. So hopefully that strikes the balance between the two weeks as last week was almost the reciprocal. The beauty is always that we can live together like that: that we recognise how diverse we are whereas in the past we've been quite homogeneous (by design or not) and we have the grace to let that diversity have life by supporting each other's needs and worship styles. Better that than dividing into different groups. No strength of 'loving neighbour' in that.
But the best bit was the texting. The Gap has the length of the service to text me 'Love the Lord you God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength and love your neighbour as yourself' but in as few characters as possible. The winner was:
<3th lrd ur gd wt ol ur <3 sol mnd stnth
<3 = love by the way.
So top marks there. Anyone do better?
