These aren't complete yet but here are four mini letters to the people of today in the context of the environment based on Jeremiah's letter to the exiles about building homes, planting, marrying and seeking peace. To be read or read while being written by four different people. Possibly symbols could be used (ideas?)
This may not be your home
This may not be your familiar place
but remain there
remain and let roots grow
this is the place of God’s choosing
God’s choosing where you should be
remain there
and build
build what needs to be built
to offer life
life in it’s fullness
build up justice
and a community of love
build up a new balance
between you
and the land
between you and the tables of others
remain there and build up
not a dwelling for yourself
but a future for the land
for in that future my promise lies
oOo
remain there and sow seeds
settle onto the land
and give it life
invest into creation
a fair chance of tomorrow
sow into the land
only that which you need to take from it
sow provision
sow celebration
sow a harvest
and from which
take only that which you give
always in balance
remain there and sow
not a profit for yourself today
but a table for the poor tomorrow
for in that future my promise lies
oOo
Remain there
and build good relationships
remain and find a beauty worth living for
in others and in creation
build relationships based on love
a love between you and each other
between you and the land
settle
make peace with each other
make peace with the harvest
sharing in good measure
a measure of benevolence
away from yourself and towards the earth
remain there and build up relationships
grounded in what can be given for the future
rather than what can be taken away from the future
for in that future, my promise lies
oOo
Remain there
and seek peace
it is your peace you seek
in the seeking of peace for others
your peace you seek
in making peace with the land
your peace does not come singly
but only wrapped up with the community of creation
settle and let the land flourish
let it be what it is called to be
love it as land
and not investment
care for it as land
and not you personal asset
make peace
and make life
remain there and seek balance with all things
for it is the future you make peace with
and in that future
my promise lies
