Today was the first Sunday of our vacancy and we welcomed our Interim Moderator to lead our morning service.
We all hope that this will be a time of renewal and the beginning of another good chapter in what has been the relatively short life of Abbotsford.
The interim moderator certainly got us off to a good start and everyone enjoyed the service based on the Loaves and Fishes. Keeping in mind that we are entering a time of uncertainty, we were reminded that we are ALL needed, in whatever capacity.
I would reinforce that this is most certainly the case.
We must not forget that it is after all OUR church. If we lose just one person, whether member, adherant or simply someone who comes along now and again, then the place will have lost someone who obviously finds something here and the place and the people will be all the worse off for it. We need strength in numbers.
So once again, please stay with us.
Let an office bearer know if there is something that you are not entirely happy with.
Don't hold it in.
Let someone, who may be able to do something about it, know.
Don't start an undercurrent of gossip.
Ask someone you trust, if you hear something you don't think to be correct.
Don't stop coming to church because you don't like something.
Let someone, who may be able to do something about it, know.
Together, we can go forward and create something new that we can all be proud of.
Together!
I make no apology for once again quoting the following...Ecclesiastes 4 9:10
