Sunday was one of those great Abbotsford days.
Morning worship was led by our enthusiastic worship group, set up at the beginning of our current vacancy, and it was made even better by a good turn out from our congregation.
At the beginning of the service, the Sunday School started off a musical script on the walls which the congregation were invited to add to later, by taking a 'note' from the communion table during the singing of one of the hymns.
We had no fewer that 7 hymns, so we certainly got our money's worth from our organist / pianist.
In between we were treated to a fantastic contemporary reading, meaningful prayers and, being Mothers' Day, a great talk on women in the Bible with a wee bit of humour for good measure.
We had thought of asking our organist to try playing what the congregation concocted on the walls, but let us just say that it was more colourful than musical!!! However, as you will see from the attached pic it did end on a 'HIGH' note.
Hymn numbers, as shown in pic, are from CH4 (the one we used to complain about in the olden days as being too heavy - remember?????) and were chosen by various church groups.
More pics can be seen in the 'Songs of Praise' photo album below, left.
