Alastair McDonald, on guitar & banjo, entertained us well and kept it going from beginning to end with songs old and new -you knew the old ones 'cos everybody instinctively joined in, even if "Bonnie Wee Jeanie" gave us a wee surprise.
A great night was had and MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO ATTENDED!
BEETLE DRIVE
The Family Badminton Club hosted a "BEETLE DRIVE" in the church halls on Friday night and over 50 people from 4 to 84 (ish!) came along to join in the 'beetlemania" and to help make it a great night.
A big THANK YOU and well done to everyone who organised and took part in the event and in doing so help raise £220 which went straight to church funds.
ADMISSION: I must be getting old and hard of hearing but I have to say that I enjoyed the two 'silent' games the best!

Along with countless others throughout the world, today we remembered those who made the greatest sacrifice of all.
Rev. David Keddie led worship and the youngsters of the Boys' Brigade brought in the 'Roll of Honour' and a wreath to the fallen. Add to that the Piper and Drummer taking us in to and out of the silence and we had a very poignent service with the provocative question from the pulpit...was it worth making that great sacrifice, when one considers what we have done with that freedom?

...What a day!
We had our Church Fayre this morning and after weeks of work behind the scenes the big day dawned...wet and dreary!
But not inside our church halls!
From 9 o'clock this morning the people arrived. Firstly to do the last minute adjustments and get the cookers on. Then slightly ahead of schedule, due to the crowds waiting and the weather, the doors were opened to the rest of the people who would help to make the day what it was... a great success!
The "Abby Tea Room" did a roaring trade with "homemade soup" and rolls and bacon / sausage: all served up by the ladies in their Abby Tea Room Shirts. What a sight!
Meanwhile the other stalls were doing a steady trade in jewellery, bric a brac, home baking, books, etc. etc..
Thank you one and thank you all! Where would we be without you?

A couple of events in November.
Firstly, a wee family night with a 'Beetle Drive' on Friday 15th at 7:00 pm, followed by a big night at Abbotsford when we welcome the legendary Alastair McDonald (complete with his banjo) on the 27th November (see 'Notice Board') at top of page.
Please do come along to both nights. You will be most welcome!
