Having had a Spring Fayre in the.. er... Spring, the initial feelings for a Christmas Fayre were perhaps not what they should have been.
However, right from the first meeting of the co-ordinating group, the signs were that they were up for the challenge and that spirit kept going right through, even when the person in charge decided to go and break her leg!
The sum total of all the work put in was a great morning with people coming and going, from the kick off at 11am, right through till the tables were all but cleared at 1:30pm. What was especially heartening was the fact that there were new faces in the throng.
A BIG thank you to everyone, whether in the planning, setting up, selling, buying, waiting (it is Advent!), cooking, serving, washing up, cleaning, tidying up, putting away, seeing to the money and 101 other things that helped make it the great success that it was... including that Jewellery Party!!!
The bottom line was the fantastic sum of £2960 being raised for church funds.
That'll help with the December heating bill!!!
