Quiz Night at Faifley Parish Church

There have been mutterings that my absence from the winning team on Friday night has being noted for future quizzes.

There have also been references made to the characters in the show 'Bonanza' (see our Facebook page).

I will say nothing... other than I seem to remember LITTLE JOE (kid brother to Hoss & Adam) appearing in Bonanza, but NOT 'Little John'.

As every self respecting TV buff of the 50's & 60's will know, Little John (as played by Archie Duncan) appeared in ROBIN HOOD (as played by Richard Greene).

Anyway, I believe that a good night was had by one and all and a big 'Thank You' to Faifely Church for hosting it.

And the mutterers know where to get me IF they need me! :-)x

Eco Congregation

Abbotsford Church has received a 'Certificate of Appreciation' for our contribution to Fair Trade in 2014.

Many thanks must go to Michael Given & his family for much hard work and going out of their way to promote the Fair Trade ethic. Thanks too to everyone who supported Michael in spreading the message to the congregation at Abbotsford.

Well done Michael!

In the beginning...

"... God made the two larger lights, the sun to rule over the day and the moon to rule over the night; he also made the stars.

He placed the lights in the sky to shine on the earth, to rule over the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness.

And God was pleased with what he saw."

And a lot of people were pleased today when they witnessed one of the greatest sights visible by the naked eye from Earth... an Eclipse.

Unfortunately, from my wee corner of Clydebank the good bit between my first pic and the second below was obliterated by a great big cloud that happened to pass by at the crucial and awe-inspiring moment.

Still marvellous nevertheless...
