The weather was horrible here in the West of Scotland this morning, with Atlantic storm 'Abigail' pushing in.
However, that didn't deter the hardy members of our congregation at Abbotsford meeting, as always, to remember those who gave the greatest sacrifice of all... Those who laid down their lives that we may live in peace and freedom.
Since our minister Ruth cannot be in two places at once for the 11 o'clock silence, she was down at Dalmuir Barclay this year. That gave us the ideal opportunity to give 'weel kent face' Sandy Harold a very warm welcome back to Abbotsford to lead us in our worship which was also attended by all sections of our BB company.
It has to be said that the boys, both young and old, were exemplary in their behaviour and played a key part in the service by bringing in the 'Roll of Honour' and the wreath, as well reading the two passages from the Bible.
A great credit to their mums, dads and leaders!
Well done one and all. It was good to see that the sacrifice of those we remember was not in vain!
