Not sure why, but I sat down to watch 'The Voice' this evening.
It has been going downhill at a rate of knots in recent times and has become more about the contents of the 4 revolving chairs than the talent performing.
Anyway, why was I sparked into writing?
When up in Glasgow with my better half, I am known to have a preference for sitting outside shops watching the world go by. On a couple of recent trips to Argyll Street, I have developed an ear for a young lad playing just across from W H Smith. Mainly because the first song I heard him sing was 'Mr Tambourine Man' by Bob Dylan. And how very well he sung my favourite song too!
Imagine my surprise when he appeared on tonight's rendition of 'The Voice"
Did any member of the panel turn?
No!... I told you it was more about the contents of the revolving chairs than the talent on show!
So, next time you happen to be in the area of W. H. Smith on Argyll St. Glasgow, have a listen for young Dylan Thomas (named after Bob Dylan). Only 18 and waiting for someone who really does have an ear for a REAL talent.
