HAPPY EASTER!

... and celebrate we certainly did!

A beautiful service with lots of 'Alleluias'... an Easter Egg Hunt...  Daffodils... remembering how the Disciples must have been feeling before finding the empty tomb... and the children reminding us, through the rocks rolled over, that He had... 
R I S E N!

Celebration indeed... and a Happy Easter to YOU, wherever you may be at this time of renewal and new life.

Communion... Remembering!

Last evening at Abbotsford, Maundy Thursday, we took Holy Communion, the culmination of a week where we walked the rocky path from adulation to abuse.

From palm branches to a crown of thorns.

Remembering.

Communion in church was preceded by 'communion' in the church hall, sharing a meal with members from our linked charge at Dalmuir Barclay.

Remembering. 

The journey is now all but over... the sun is out and we look forward to the resurrection.

But we know the story.

How different it must have been for those who, 2000 years ago, felt that their short and rocky journey was all but over. 

Their faith, although tested to the very limit, was justified.

Let us not let them down!

The best is yet to come!

Let us make our way to church on Sunday... and celebrate.

Timings are important... oops!

We had the pleasure of welcoming two visitors to Abbotsford this morning, albeit they came in with only 15 minutes to go. It was only when chatting to them after the service that it became more obvious that the timing problem was entirely down to... er... me!

I had taken down the sign (with worship times) on our outside notice board for a wee bit of maintenance. The couple had resorted to looking up our web page but it has to be said (now that I look at it in a different light), that you had to delve a bit to actually find the times. So much so that I hadn't even been there recently and the info. was over two months out of date!!! - Oops! 

All is now sorted and this important piece of information is now on our 'HOME PAGE', below the minister's welcoming words.

Anyway, the good news is that the couple were in time to join us in Communion and in our wee chat after the service, it turned out that their daughter had just had gone through major surgery at the local Golden Jubilee Hospital.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time and perhaps they will be able to join us, now knowing the correct timings, some time in the near future.
